This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage that [TO CONFIRM: company legal name] ("TeePay") uses on teepay.me, the TeePay dashboard, and TeePay payment pages, checkout and invoices.

Our approach

We only use cookies and browser storage that are needed to run TeePay, keep accounts secure, and remember choices you make. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies. Because these cookies are needed for the Services to work, we do not ask for consent to them, but you can still control them in your browser (see below).

Cookies we use

Signing in and security

  • Sign-in session cookies (karpy_user_access, karpy_user_refresh): keep you signed in to your merchant account. The access cookie lasts about 15 minutes and is renewed automatically. The refresh cookie lasts 1 day, or 30 days if you choose to stay signed in.

  • Trusted browser cookie (teepay_trusted_device): remembers that you verified this browser with a one-time code, so we do not ask you again every time. It lasts up to 30 days.

  • Sign-in verification cookies (teepay_login_challenge, teepay_login_resend): track a one-time code check in progress and stop codes being resent too often. They last a few minutes.

  • Google sign-in cookie (teepay_google_state): protects the sign-in with Google flow against forgery. It lasts only for that sign-in.

  • Administrator session cookies (teepay_platform_admin, karpy_admin_session): used only by TeePay staff signing in to our administration tools.

These cookies are marked so that scripts on the page cannot read them.

Purchases and downloads

  • Purchase session cookies: when you pay for a digital product or ticket, a short-lived cookie limited to that purchase lets you access what you bought in the same browser.

Preferences

  • Sidebar cookie (sidebar_state): remembers whether the dashboard sidebar is open or closed. It lasts 7 days.

Other browser storage

We also use your browser's local storage and session storage, which stay on your device and are not sent to us automatically:

  • Theme: remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.

  • Dashboard preferences: remembers display choices you make in the dashboard.

  • Signed-out across tabs: tells your other open TeePay tabs when you sign out or your session ends for inactivity.

  • Work in progress: keeps unsaved invoice drafts, verification form progress and a pending security check while you move between pages. This is cleared when you close the browser tab.

  • Payment page views: a random identifier for your browser session, so a merchant's payment page view count does not count you twice. It does not identify you and is cleared when you close the tab.

  • Returning after payment: remembers where to take you back to after you complete a purchase.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in and security cookies, you will not be able to sign in to your TeePay account, and you may be asked to verify your browser each time. Paying a merchant does not require you to accept any optional cookies.

Changes and contact

If we start using any new type of cookie, especially one that is not strictly necessary, we will update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it. Questions: info@teepay.me.
